UVs To Move

Script to move your UVs in the space of Maya UV Texture Editor.
Quick and handy. You can copy it into a python tab and drag it to your custom shelf.
Select your object and the number of units you want to move the UVs

import maya.cmds as cmds
###GUI
def uvs_toMove():
    window = cmds.window (title = 'UVs to Move', iconName = 'UVs to Move')
    cmds.scrollLayout( 'scrollLayout' )
    col = cmds.columnLayout( adjustableColumn=False )
    cmds.text( label='Select objects and fill the fields with the number of times you want to move your UVs', align='left')
    cmds.columnLayout()
    cmds.intFieldGrp( 'intFieldsForUVs', numberOfFields=2, label='U and V Position', value1=1, value2=0)
    cmds.button (label = 'Move UVs', command = MoveUVs)
    cmds.setParent( '..' )
    cmds.setParent( '..' )
    cmds.showWindow()

def MoveUVs(*args):
    queryV1 = cmds.intFieldGrp('intFieldsForUVs', query=True, value1=True)
    queryV2 = cmds.intFieldGrp('intFieldsForUVs', query=True, value2=True)
    objSel = cmds.ls (sl = 1)
    count = 0
    for ele in objSel:
        objSelUvs = cmds.polyListComponentConversion (objSel[count], tuv = True)
        cmds.select (objSelUvs)
        cmds.polyEditUV( relative=True, uValue=queryV1, vValue=queryV2 )
        #cmds.select( clear=True )

Compositing Reel

My latest reel based on some personal projects / shots where I try to show some of my knowledge in compositing and VFX.

I've made all the raw footage & "home made" blue screen plus google images. The two spaceship are free models wich I downloaded form turbosquid.com

Exercise 00

An exercise I've made while learning Houdini.

Using some techniques I learnt from tutorials, I built a quick short video to show and put them in practice.

I know everything could be more polished but.. it's an exercice. Time for another! Besides, vimeo conversion of the video did not went very well.. I'll try to upload a another version soon and see what happens and if it gets any better.

Bubble Bip

One episode of a cartoon series where I worked in this last year as a 3D Generalist.

Its called "Bubble Bip", from Triacom Audiovisual (Barcelona, Spain).

I've made several tasks, from prop modeling and rigging, FX's look development, character rig support and even some layout shots. Enjoy!

Troubleshooting Linear Work Flow V-Ray for Maya

I’m working on a V-Ray Project and one of my first aims was to establish a light set with a clean LWF. There are plenty of information around the web so I’ll only going to leave here the one that I most liked. A link to Xuan Prada great blog

While establishing the LWF I found some problems and some workarounds. I hope you find it useful

Troubleshooting.

    - When enabling the “Texture input gamma” (at V-Ray attributes) Maya should give us a new “Extra VRay Attributes” for us to change the texture color space. If this doesn’t happen, try to turn on and off the Maya History Button.

    - If VRay Framebuffer disappears, try to (re)open the scene and before any render is done execute the following MEL:
setAttr "vraySettings.vfbSettingsArr" -type Int32Array 0;

    - If you’re having aliassing artifacts/problems, enable “Subpixel Mapping” on VRay Render Settings (this will increment render time)

    - Render to EXR files (RGBA Float 4×32)

    - Last, you may copy/send your images to Maya Render View to keep them temporally and more easily compare your renders. Just remember to change the Maya Render View Display Color Profile to sRGB (gamma corrected)
